Chief incumbent of the Narada Buddhist Centre
The Chairman of HODES Dharmasiri De Silva is a Sri Lankan entrepreneur. He is also a popular devotee among Bhikkhus. We know that the South of Lanka is well known for producing national heroes. Mr Dharmasiri was also born in such an area. I am glad that I was also born in the same area. I am delighted to extend my blessings to someone who was born in a village and moved to the city to conquer the world. As he is a man from the area he knows the people and the area quite well. This helped him to foster good relations with his neighbours and those who visited the village from time to time. He is a successful exporter who brought a lot of prestige to Sri Lanka. He also achieved fame for bringing honour to his country and the nation. It is something that we can be proud of.
What is important in his character is not the international fame he has earned. I have been impressed with his life as a pious Buddhist and his philosophy of life. He is rich materially and spiritually. He follows Buddhism to the letter and leads a Buddhist way of life. He makes an immense effort to propagate Buddhism among his fellowmen. He gets books on Buddhism printed for free distribution among the people. He also takes part in discussions on Dhamma. By doing so he disseminates the Buddha’s word among a large number of people in the country.
We know that he has donated many temples for the Maha Sangha. He observes sil at those temples and teaches Dhamma to others. He serves as the chief devotee of Narada Buddhist Centre. I sincerely bless him for his services. He sincerely believes that the only way to be happy is to lead a righteous life without committing sins and accumulating merit as far as possible. It is also necessary to enlighten others about the Buddhist way of life. I wish him good health and long life with the blessings of the Triple Gems.
